Privacy policy

In short: there are no accounts here, I collect no more data than necessary, and your favourite and completed trails stay in your browser. Details below.

1. Who is the data controller

The controller of personal data on taterki.eu is Konrad Leśniak, running a sole proprietorship as Creative Sight Konrad Leśniak, ul. Chłodna 66/1, 71-493 Szczecin, Poland, NIP (tax ID) 8512884472, REGON 321482565.

For anything about your personal data, write to taterkieu@gmail.com or by post to the address above.

2. Contact form

If you write through the contact form, I process your name, email address and message — only to reply and keep the conversation going. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in replying (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, if you ask about working together, steps taken before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

I keep messages until the conversation ends and then for the limitation period of any claims. Giving your data is voluntary, but without an email address I cannot reply. The form is handled by Netlify (the site host), and the notification goes to a Gmail inbox (Google).

3. Visit statistics

I use Simple Analytics for statistics. It does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses and does not build visitor profiles — I only see aggregate numbers, such as how many people opened a trail.

4. Ads (Google AdSense)

The site may show Google AdSense ads. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, measure them and — if you agree — personalise them based on your previous visits to this and other websites.

How Google uses data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google Ad Settings.

5. Affiliate links

Some links are affiliate links — including Booking.com (accommodation), GetYourGuide (tickets and tours) and shops in the Convertiser programme. If you buy something through them, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. After you click, the partner may set a cookie to attribute the purchase to Taterki. The Convertiser script also runs on the site to show recommended products. Partners process data under their own privacy policies.

6. Embedded content

Some pages include content from other services: Relive route recordings (via Embedly) and YouTube videos. Such content behaves as if you visited that service — it may set cookies and see your IP address. YouTube videos in galleries show thumbnails loaded from YouTube, and the video itself loads only after you click.

The “Current conditions” bar on trail pages fetches the forecast from Open-Meteo directly from your browser, so Open-Meteo sees your IP address. No other data is sent.

7. “Buy me a coffee”

Support through buycoffee.to happens on their site. buycoffee.to processes the data you enter there under its own privacy policy; I only see the payment and any message you leave.

8. Data stored in your browser

The site saves a few things in your browser's storage (localStorage) to work more conveniently:

  • favourite trails and posts and completed trails (your profile),
  • ticks on the “What to pack” list,
  • your chosen theme (light or dark).

This data is not sent to any server and I cannot see it. Remove it with the “Clear profile” button or by clearing site data in your browser.

9. Hosting and server logs

The site runs on Netlify. Like any server, Netlify keeps technical logs (including IP address, date, page address and browser) to keep the service running and secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

10. Recipients and transfers outside the EEA

Data may reach the providers I use: Netlify (hosting and form), Google (Gmail, AdSense), Simple Analytics, Convertiser and the other partners listed above, and accounting or legal services when necessary. Some of them (e.g. Netlify, Google) process data in the USA — under the European Commission's EU-US Data Privacy Framework decision or standard contractual clauses.

11. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where I rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to taterkieu@gmail.com.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Polish supervisory authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, uodo.gov.pl), or with the authority in your country.

I do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.

12. Changes

When a new service appears on the site or the way data is processed changes, I will update this page and the date above.
