Map and trail profile
Kuźnice – Kalatówki – Kondratowa
Kalatówki and Hala Kondratowa are the blue trail from Kuźnice that ends at the lowest Tatra hut (1,333 m a.s.l.), before serious Giewont begins. A meadow, a hotel, the Albertine convent, a view of the wall without the queue under the cross.
💡 In a nutshell – Kalatówki and Kondratowa:
For whom: A walk with a child on foot, the day before Giewont, knees after yesterday’s Czerwone Wierchy.
No chains. There are stones and some mud after rain.
Tiles: Both buildings and the return to Kuźnice. The hotel alone is in the table.
Giewont: A separate card. From here another 600 m up and a queue.
Trail description: Blue under Giewont, not onto Giewont
Stage 1: Kuźnice and the Albertines
From Kuźnice blue under the Kasprowy cable car. The Albertine convent — the chapel and Brother Albert’s cell if you have 20 minutes.
Stage 2: Polana Kalatówki
The mountain hotel, a moraine, a view of Kasprowy. The pushchair ends here.
Stage 3: Hala Kondratowa
Another 50 min on blue. The hut, the meadow, Giewont hanging overhead. Return the same way. Green from here goes to Kopa Kondracka — that is another card.
Logistics and practical information
Start: Kuźnice by bus or car park. In season the car park dies at 8:00.
Ticket: TPN. Booth on the trail.
Food: The hotel on Kalatówki and the hut on Kondratowa. Two reasons not to carry a pot.
Dog: Banned.
Who is this absolutely NOT for?
Not for someone who “is going to Giewont because Kondratowa is already close” — it is not close. Not with a pushchair to Kondratowa. If you want a shorter valley closer to Krupówki, take Strążyska. If you want the cross — Giewont from Kuźnice.
Nosal from Kuźnice: green trail to the ridge, down to the dam. The tiles are that loop, 58 min. From the dam steeply up and back via Kuźnice is in the table. No chains, polished limestone.
